Story
I believe that everyone has the potential to be an artist. Art isn’t just about expression—it’s about reflecting life, representing our communities, and influencing how culture changes and grows.
For 30 years, Camden People’s Theatre (CPT) has been doing just that, standing at the intersection of theatre, community, and creativity in one of London’s most diverse areas.
As arts spaces like CPT become rarer, it’s more crucial than ever to support these hubs of connection. There are very few places left where artists, audiences, and communities can come together to create, discuss, and explore new ideas. CPT isn’t just a theatre—it’s a home for bold voices, a space where the arts are used to spark change and challenge the status quo.
Now, as CPT enters an exciting new chapter with Rio, our dynamic new artistic director, there’s a fresh sense of energy and vision for the future. Rio brings a wealth of experience and an exciting perspective that will undoubtedly drive CPT forward while staying true to its mission of nurturing creativity and representation. Under Rio’s leadership, CPT is ready to break new ground, and we need your support to make that happen.
If, like me, you believe in the transformative power of culture and community, now is the time to step in and support CPT. By donating to this campaign, you’re not just supporting a theatre—you’re contributing to a space where emerging artists, groundbreaking ideas, and unheard stories can thrive. Every contribution helps keep CPT accessible and ensures it continues to be a vital part of London’s cultural landscape.
Join me in celebrating CPT’s 30th anniversary by supporting its future. Together, we can ensure that art continues to inspire, challenge, and connect us all.

Some numbers to demonstrate our impact.
Last year CPT supported 226 artists / companies to deliver 302 performances, gave out 1356 hours of in-kind rehearsal space, and 60 of our artists received commissions. 72% of those artists were in the first 4 years of their career, and showed work to over 17,000 audience members. Though they are one of the smallest theatres, th are one of the biggest emerging artist support hubs in the city.
For the 30th birthday of CPT, we don’t want gifts for ourselves, we want to support the artists and community members that make up the heart of our theatre. We’re aiming to raise £100k to expand and transform our programmes, so we’re ready to continue delivering groundbreaking work for the next 30 years.
