Story
I'm taking on the Welsh 3000 challenge - a grueling hike covering ~50km of mountain terrain and conquering 4000m of elevation. It's equivalent to climbing almost halfway up Everest in just 2 days!
My route:
Day 1 - This starts with a climb up Snowden (including scrambling the knife-edged ridge of Crib Goch) and the surrounding peaks, hiking 10.5km and climbing 850m. Then we go on to tackle the Glyderau mountain range - a further 13.5km and 1400m elevation. This is a completely insane amount of hardcore mountain climbing for one day. It'll be hours of tough mountain climbing with an eye watering 2250m of elevation.
Day 2 - This starts with achy legs, sore feet and a traverse of the Carneddau mountain range. This will be a similar length route to day 1 but with less climbing, covering 22km with an elevation of 1000m.
But this isn't just about the adventure; it's about making a difference. I'm proud to be part of the Ecosurety team raising funds for Waste Aid, an organisation dedicated to tackling waste management challenges in communities around the world. Did you know that Waste Aid empowers communities to turn waste into resources, creating sustainable livelihoods and protecting the environment? ♻
Our goal is to raise £15,000 to support Waste Aid's vital work. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a huge impact! If you can, please consider contributing to this incredible cause. Together, we can make a difference!
Any donations very welcome.
