Story
In April we will be taking part in the Rickshaw Run across India in a Tuk Tuk which will span over around 4,000 km in just under 3 weeks. We will be starting our journey in Shillong and finishing in Fort Kochi. There is no advised route nor any help along the way, it will just be two of us in a rickshaw against Mother Nature. The rickshaw is three-wheeled and equipped with a 145cc engine that has a maximum speed of 55 kmph.
We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the charity, Cool Earth, who are dedicated to funding indigenous communities to protect endangered rainforests. Backing the people that live in the rainforest and recognising and respecting their rights is essential in fighting the climate crisis. Their climate knowledge and rich history of living in rainforests ensure the best carbon sinks on earth can stay that way. Keeping rainforests intact can provide 23% of climate mitigation urgently needed to cool our planet. Protecting rainforest is desperately underfunded, casting a shadow of concern on the future of our planet. This is why we feel, so strongly, that this situation is in need our of help.
We would be forever grateful if you were willing to support us on this unusual, challenging and amazing experience by donating whatever you can to this page.
We will also be donating money to the charity, Shelter, which you can learn more about in a separate link.
