Story

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. ❤️

This may come as a surprise to some 🤣 that on the 27/4/25, I will be running 🏃‍♀️ the London Marathon alongside my sister Claire and husband Barry and I am so honoured and beyond excited to be able to run for the amazing charity - Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

For those who know me, know how much I love animals and that I have dedicated my career and half my life to looking after and helping them. All the animals I have cared for and my own fur babies have given me so much over the years, I now want to give something back to these amazing creatures and their spectacular abilities that help us. 🐕‍🦺🐾🦮

In a nutshell this charity train dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds they would otherwise miss – such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby's cry. Being aware of these – thanks to a hearing dog – makes a real difference to deaf people’s lives, and can even save them.

Deafness can be a very isolating disability. A hearing dog provides lots of love, companionship and emotional support. These amazing dogs help deaf children and adults to leave this loneliness behind and reconnect with life.

The cost to train and support each hearing dog throughout their lifetime is £40,000.

How your donation helps: 🐶

£10 - Can provide a selection of toys and treats to the dogs and puppies.

£20 - Worming tablets for a hearing dog for a whole year ensuring they stay healthy.

£30 - A hearing dog uniform, bringing visibility to an otherwise invisible disability.

£80 - Puppy starter pack including: bed, crate, toys, collar, lead and training aids.

£150 - Dog grooming kit including: brushes, clippers and scissors to keep our dogs looking smart.

£350 - Food for a hearing dog for a year, keeping it strong and healthy for its important work.

I am aware of how any one of us could need their assistance one day and if I could even make just the smallest difference that would be the most amazing opportunity for me to be part of.

If you are able to make a donation ( no matter how small) to help this wonderful charity and give me even more motivation to get to that finish line, I would be truly grateful. 💕 💖
