Retiring Divisional Facilities Manager (QSD) - Faroukh Sorab gears up for ‘Charity Abseil’.
After 20 years working for UCLH, Divisional Facilities Manager at our Queen Square site, Faroukh Sorab is about to retire – but like many UCLH colleagues, he also wants to give something back to UCLH and the people that he has enjoyed working with over two decades by raising money for UCLH Charity.
Faroukh decided on a charity abseil from the 16th Floor of The White Collar Factory building, in London’s Old Street, which he will do on 28th September 2024.
Faroukh said: I am ready to retire after 20 years’ service at UCLH, which has given me an opportunity to do my best for our patients and my fantastic team at Queen Square. It has always been my intention to give back something to UCLH, as a ‘Big Thank you' and what better way than to raise funds for UCLH Charity, which does so much to support our patients, staff and research at UCLH.
So why abseiling?
“I haven’t abseiled at any time in my life and am a bit scared of heights, but decided to take up this challenge under any circumstances,” said Faroukh. “My team think I will bottle it on the day and they have joked that when they come to see me do it, they will be holding a safety net below, in case I need it!
“I am hoping to raise £5,500 to say a massive thank you for the amazing experience of working at UCLH.”
If you’d like to donate, go to Faroukh’s Just Giving page and give what you can to help me towards my target!
Thank you so much for your help and support given to me in raising £5,000.
Warm Regards,
Faroukh.
