Story
We’re doing it. We’re actually doing it. Matt, Sam and Summer are taking part in a 35-mile trek for charity! Who would have thought we’d be swapping our favourite spot on the sofa for a pair of hiking boots? All in the name of the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, of course.
We’re kicking off this epic journey at the John Smiths Stadium on Friday 13th. Yep, Friday the 13th. Let’s hope that’s just a coincidence and not a sign of things to come. Day one is a cool 25 miles. We’ll see how our legs feel after that. Day two is a slightly more merciful 10 miles, but by then we might be crawling more than walking! The grand finale is rocking up at the Toughsheet Community Stadium just in time to watch the lads take on Bolton. If our feet survive, we might even be able to cheer.
So, here’s to sore muscles, blisters, and hopefully a whole load of cash for an amazing cause. Wish us luck!
Forget Me Not is there for any family confronting the news that their child has a life-shortening condition, offering support however, wherever, and whenever it is needed. By providing superb nursing care, hydrotherapy, creative therapy, days out, memory making, end of life care, bereavement support, and counseling, the hospice helps families make the most of every moment they have together.
