Story
Many of you will know that as a family we put a lot of time into fundraising for and supporting our local secondary school, Bolingbroke Academy. The school was set up by local parents to provide a high quality non-selective and secular education in our area of inner London where there was previously no secondary provision.
Thanks to the brilliant teachers, the school has proven itself many times over to be highly effective at creating opportunities that would not otherwise have existed for many children and at levelling the playing field for those that are under-privileged and sometimes have limited support at home. We believe this is a very good cause!
This year the Bolingbroke community is going all out to raise the funds to re-build the school garden and increase our outdoor space by 30%!
To build the garden we need to raise a massive £70,000!
There is quite literally no money for schools to do anything other keep teaching going as best they can so this will not happen without a big fundraising effort.
We will use the space as a quiet area for break times, outdoor lessons, social events, music and drama performances. As an inner city school with very limited outdoor space, this will make a huge difference to our pupils and staff every day, increasing well-being and inclusion.
Please consider sponsoring our family team for the London Bridges Challenge Walk... it's not a 100 mile cycle, an 80 floor ascent or a cross-Pyrenees multi-day trek but we know you care and hope you might consider the cause worthy of a quid or two.
Thank you very much for your support and we look forward to telling you all about it afterwards!
