Story
**1st March- WOW utterly blown away by donations in 24 hours! Thank you so much to all of you! I have upped our target due to your generosity to this wonderful charity**
Myself, Ashley and several members of our family, and some of our wonderful friends are joining us in doing this mud run.
Why? In short, Sheffield Children's saved our eldest daughters life. This makes me feel physically sick to write to be honest, but it's the truth.
Evie spent over a month in hospital, over 2 weeks of which were in Critical Care at SCH. Evie had suffered an "extensive thrombus in the superior sagittal sinus", a large clot in her brain which had caused a stroke. Evie was 6 at the time, hardly the news you expect as parents, especially when we had originally only taken her into hospital due to having a painful ankle. Evie was quickly diagnosed with HSP, which ordinarily is monitored and goes untreated but Evie suffered very rare (never seen in the UK in fact) neuro complications.
We are, and always will be beyond grateful to SCH, particularly to all the staff in the CC Unit.
We are very pleased to say that Evie has made, "nothing short of a miraculous recovery", quoted from the consultants themselves. We will spend the rest of our lives doing all we can to raise money for this amazing hospital. We could not be prouder of our little warrior princess, we are doing this for you little one (not that you will see/read this 🤣).
Anyone who can spare anything, even one pound, getting behind us will really, really mean the world.

The first FHF Mud Run 5k is taking place at Gullivers Valley South Yorkshire on Saturday, March 23rd 2024 in aid of The Children’s Hospital Charity.
The 5km obstacle course will feature many challenges and of course lots of mud.
The course will be on a mixture of grass, woods and paths, winding its way around the countryside, and there are several cheering points along the way.
