Story

I believe Every Refugee Matters and that everyone should be able to live in Safety and Dignity. Every day, across the UK, our incredible British Red Cross refugee support teams continue to do what they can to enable people who are displaced and in need of protection to live in safety and dignity. Recent policy change has only added to the uncertainty and distress for people who come to us for advice and support, and we have seen a significant and growing increase in the number of people experiencing destitution. To me, this is unacceptable and need to change. With pressures likely to continue and driven by the first hand stories of people I have met who tell me about what they have experienced and what it means to them to access compassionate, dignified support provided by our teams, I want to do what I can to show solidarity and raise some funds that will help us to continue to support as many people as possible. I hope through this small, practical act of support, I can raise £500. Please do support if you can, or send a message of solidarity. Together, let's #EndDestitution. Thank you.
