Story
The first charity I have chosen to support is CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
Ten years ago on April the 19th,, my former teammate & close friend Pete McAvoy died as the result of an undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia, he was just twenty-two years old.
Tragically, Pete’s story is not as rare as you may think as every week in the UK at least twelve seemingly fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. CRY offers support to those diagnosed as well as the families affected whilst raising public awareness. Your donations will help them to screen more young people and develop new ways to catch these potentially fatal conditions before they take more young lives.
It seemed only fitting to nominate CRY in memory of Pete on the ten-year anniversary of his death. Please help me to celebrate his life by supporting this wonderful charity.
