Story
BACKGROUND
Back in January 2007 a beautiful soul Naomi Gough was taken from this world in a shock road traffic incident. I remember being told the news and it hit me hard, Naomi was a beautiful soul taken far too soon.
Over the years I have briefly touched base with Naomi's amazing strong mother Bev Gough. I had seen she set up a foundation in memory of Naomi to help families who suffer with the shock of losing a child through road traffic incidents up to and including age 25. The Charity helps families with funeral costs and other much needed support when the unthinkable happens.
Throughout the years I have always wanted to do something to help raise funds for this amazing cause which helps so many, this charity is independently funded and needs all the help it can get to raise funds to allow them to continue the amazing work they do to help others.
I will now go on to explain why my personal situation has given me the drive to help this foundation on the back of my own adversity and attempt a challenge that has never been completed before and at the same time allow us to create some much needed awareness for this cause. Please read bottom of this page for more info on the Naomi Cheri Gough foundation.

THE NAOMI CHERI GOUGH FOUNDATION (story)
On January 10th 2007 our beautiful daughter Naomi Cheri Gough lost her life due to a road traffic collision in Halifax.
Naomi had recently celebrated her 19th Birthday before this tragic event. To say our lives were destroyed on this day, is an understatement. We were a family of five and now all our dreams were shattered. After the initial shock, we had to try rebuilding and re direct our lives without Naomi. However, we still needed her to be part of it.
To lose a child/dependant under the age of 25 years, is unimaginable. Quite often insurance is not in place for the sudden and unexpected expense. We help lift that burden by giving financial support.
We were not prepared for Naomi’s untimely passing or the financial burden that comes with the tragic loss. It was with the help of family, friends, students and the local community, that we were able to give Naomi a most fitting funeral. We will never be able to pay for her wedding day.
Naomi was a bright, happy, caring and beautiful young woman, who was full of fun and had a fantastic sense of humour. She loved her brother Shane and sister Rochelle, also her friends and she was always there to help them in time of a crisis. Someone they could always turn to for support and advice. She always went out of her way to help others. Naomi would not stand by and see someone struggle in anyway and always stepped in and offered her help regardless of who or how old they were.
We wanted to keep this beautiful legacy of Naomi’s alive and help others in need. So with this in mind, in 2007 we founded the Naomi Cheri Gough Memorial Fund. We worked alongside another charity up until 2016 and then decided to set up our own registered charity Naomi Cheri Gough Foundation.
Join us in our mission to provide comfort and aid to those in need. Together, we can make a lasting impact on our community.
