Story
I'm aiming to walk 100 Kilometres from Richmond to Brighton over 2 days (25/26 May). I'll be joined by at least 2 of my friends, and we are walking in memory of our dear friend Lesley Wood, who died in October 2023. So we're Lesley Wood's Walkers! Lesley and I and my walking friends were all at school together from age 11, and the bonds of that friendship have remained as strong and important as ever. We're taking on this challenge as a thank you to St Barnabas House, the hospice which helped support Lesley in the last months of her life so that she was able to stay at home in the loving care of her husband Chris & their children Sam and Stephie. I've been involved with the hospice movement for many years, and I know the extraordinary work hospices do - and St Barnabas House is a wonderful and inspiring example of this.
St Barnabas House is a charity based in Worthing which provides palliative and end of life care to adults with life-limiting illnesses.
We believe everyone facing life-limiting illness should receive the care and support they deserve. Our mission is to provide dignity, comfort and choice for adults who need specialised, supportive care.
Your generous support helped to provide specialist supportive care for 1,786 local people and their families at the hospice and in the comfort of their own homes last year.
