Story

Our Dearest Darling Teddy, Rest In Peace, our beautiful boy 🕊️

Teddy Tope, my nephew and godson, was born on the 4th January 2023. His mother, my sister Maria, knew their was something special about Teddy. She has three older teenage children Tommy, Mary and Maggie and would often say “I cherish every moment with baby Teddy”. He was loved beyond measure by his siblings and parents. His grandma (Nain), would run up everyday to the rockery cafe to see her “Greatest Joy”, despite having 17 grandchildren she would often tell everyone “Teddy is my Greatest Joy”, “There’s just something about Teddy”.

On the 5th October Teddy was admitted to hospital with Meningitis and Scepticism, for 11 painful agonising days we watched our Greatest Joy battle. We read, we sang, we cried, we prayed. God had recruited an Angel. On Monday 16th October our Teddy became our Guardian Angel.

Teddy boy, our hearts are broken, our bodies are heavy but our spirits are strong. Your legacy will live on forever inside of us.

I will be raising money for all the sick children on the ward Teddy was on, the PICU unit at St George’s. This will allow the hospital to expand the unit and increase the number of beds to accommodate more sick children.
