A major event in the UK's running calendar, the Sheffield Half Marathon attracts thousands of runners of all abilities and spectators to the city's streets each year and raises many thousands of pounds for good causes.

Story

Me and Fred will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon in March in Support of St Luke’s Hospice; a charity that is extremely close to our hearts.

St Luke’s provide critical end of life care for those with terminal illness and just as vital support to families in their time of need - all free of charge.

Our Grandad (Da to most) was admitted to St Luke’s in October 2022 following a short battle with cancer, where he spent his final few days in relative comfort surrounded by family and for which we are eternally grateful to St Luke’s and its team.

The lack of state funding for hospices across the UK means that such charities are increasingly (and wrongly) dependent on the generosity of local communities to provide essential healthcare services. St Luke’s in particular needs to raise an additional £10.5 million a year in order to continue to provide the outstanding level of care that has become synonymous with the hospice.

Any and all donations are hugely appreciated.
