I am running the AJ Bell Great North Run - a half marathon on the 8th of September 2024 in aid of BARK (Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels). B.A.R.K is an amazing charity and one very close to my heart that provides temporary refuge for unwanted and stray domestic animals. Wherever possible it is their objective to re-home them. More importantly they provide a safe and comfortable place for the animals during a difficult transitional period and have their best interests at heart. The animals here are looked after with pure love and care and it is made sure they are having as much fun as possible in what can be a daunting time.

As many of you may know, myself and my families lives were transformed in the best way we could ever imagine in 2021 when we welcomed into our home our Sky and Storm, two stunning, playful cocker spaniels after seeing them up for adoption through BARK. Their previous owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to hand them into BARK but this process was made slightly easier due to the professionalism of BARK charity. Sky and Storm are the absolute light of our lives and genuinely mean the world to us. Without the crucial actions of BARK we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet Sky and Storm and give them the next best years of their lives which we strive to do everyday as it’s what they deserve and more.

For our case, Sky and Storm were kept together as being brothers are very close, so never felt alone in the process.

As BARK is a charity, donations are the main source used to provide food, comfort and needs to the animals and because of this, I would absolutely love the chance to contribute to this cause and give back to show how grateful we are they chose and trusted us to home Sky and Storm and give them all the love we can give.

Any donation, however small, would be hugely appreciated to this very worthy cause that helps support many dogs continue to live life to the full with their new families❤️
