Story
This upcoming year, Josh and Erin will be running the London Marathon for Brain Tumour Research UK. We are running in memory of my (Erin) grandad Russell Shreeves.

In 2019 we lost grandad to a stage 4 Glioblastoma - aged 64. Before his diagnosis Grandad was a happy and healthy man, working and loving his football, but unfortunately things changed rapidly. From what started as just a headache turned out to be 3 brain tumours about to cause havoc on our family. In the 8 months he fought his cancer his daily routine changed from getting up to go to work, to getting up going for chemo or radio or CT scans etc. But even with a 9 1/2 hour surgery on his brain and being poked and prodded constantly Grandad kept his wits and sense of humor!
Grandad was my rock. He was a massive part of my life.
Running a marathon isn't going to be easy - especially being a diabetic but with Josh by my side I know we will smash it.

Having done more research on the topic, here are facts you NEED to read
- Every two hours, someone is diagnosed with a brain tumour in England
- Brain tumours continue to kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer
- Only 1% of national expenditure has been allocated to this devastating disease
- Only 12% of brain tumour patients survive beyond five years of their diagnosis, whereas over 70% of breast cancer and over 40% of leukaemia patients survive beyond five years
- In 2015, the number of children dying from cancer was 194, with brain tumours taking 67 young lives and leukaemia 46
We are going guns blazing into this challenge, we are committed to running the Marathon not only in memory of Russell but for everyone else going through these tough times. We want to raise as much awareness and money for the charity to help other families who have been/will be affect by this cruel Cancer. We will one day find a cure!
Thank you for visiting our page, it means a lot. Let's go smash this target!
