Story
My friend Calum Mackintosh and I were planning on running the Edinburgh Marathon together this year. We loved to challenge each other. Tragically and without any warning he died from a catastrophic cardiac event in November. I have been completely devasted by the loss of my friend. However, I have decided to keep the promise I made to Cal and run the marathon. If at the same time I can raise some money for The Calum Mackintosh’s Memorial Fund through the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young I know that will spur me on.
About cry
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
