Story
I'm fundraising for Jacari by abseiling down 95 metres (14 floors!) of the Lloyd's London building on 27th June.
Jacari is a remarkable charity I've been working with over the past year that supports migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking children to learn English, grow in confidence and achieve their potential.
Children and young people who use English as an additional language can sometimes struggle at school, needing extra support to help them learn and use English with confidence- something not all schools can offer. Jacari offers support to these young individuals by matching them up with a volunteer to help them with their self-assurance when speaking and using English.
Building a personal relationship between students and volunteers is at the heart of Jacari's cause: providing young people with a friend and mentor who gives them a love of learning.
By giving to this cause, you'll help students connect with mentors and fund activities (like field trips!)- all contributing to better supporting the learning experience for these young people.
