Bob Graham Round
In memory of Kirsty Aspinall
We provide specialist care and support to people with life-shortening illnesses.

Story

On December 5th 2023 we lost our dear friend Kirsty to cancer. Kirsty was cared for at St. Catherine's and I was able to witness first hand the incredible support that they provide not only for the patients, but also their family and friends. I wanted to do something to raise money for St. Cath's to continue their incredible work so in 2024 I am attempting to run The Bob Graham Round, a circular loop of 42 Lake District summits (67 miles/27,000 ft ascent). Traditionally the challenge has been to complete the round in under 24 hours. As a bit of a plodder I'm not sure I'll manage the under 24 hours bit, but just completing the round will be enough of an accomplishment in my book and I hope you all agree! My only other goal is spend time on the fells doing something I love with some of my best friends :-). The attempt will be made sometime around the end of May/beginning of June but will be dictated by the weather.

St Catherine's provides palliative and end-of-life care and support for the people of Central Lancashire, through their specialised services at the hospice and in people’s own homes. They're here to help people facing life-shortening conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure to enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life. It costs more than £5m to run our charity every single year. They rely on the amazing efforts and wonderful generosity of supporters like you to help us raise the funds we need. Thank you!
