Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
We are Team "Les Franglos", and each of us has a story to tell.
Helen
I never expected to hear those words "I'm sorry, but it is breast cancer", but I consider myself fortunate. I had a great surgeon and oncologist, a caring team of nurses, supportive colleagues (both mine and Mike's) and just out-of-this-world brilliant group of family and friends who were there for us throughout 2024 from all corners of the world. To all of you, know that I am forever grateful for every message you've sent to check up on us, distract me, raise my spirits, and making me smile with all those flowers and care packages (for some, at a time when things were difficult for you too). Thank you. 2025 brings me a new start, and as I regain my mobility and strength it seemed like a perfect opportunity to give something back to the charities that helped me. Your donation funds the amazing support that Macmillan provides up and down the country, for people just like me.
Emmanuelle
I'm Emmanuelle, married and mum of 4. Following the passing of my mother 20 years ago, I became deeply aware of the importance of support—not only for those who are ill but also for those who stand by their side and for those who mourn their loss. Though two decades have passed, the pain has never faded. Coming from a high-risk family myself, as a mother and as a pediatric nurse, this cause is especially close to my heart. Too often, we focus on the fight against illness but forget the immense burden carried by caregivers and grieving loved ones.Taking part in this fundraising effort is my way of honoring my mother’s memory and ensuring that no one facing these hardships feels alone. Every donation is a gesture of hope and solidarity, helping to support those in need and ease the burden of those who stand beside them.
