Story
PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.
Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, every year over 1800 young people took their own lives! Read that again, the statistics are shocking. We need to be talking about this and doing all that we can to help those and their families who are experiencing it.
So that's why I have decided to run Cardiff Half Marathon dressed as a giant human brain (yup!). I am also a Neuroscientist, so I'm going to be doing all I can to get us all talking about our brains.
The incredible charity that I am running for PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINE247.
Every £10 raised can contribute towards a life-saving contact to HOPELINE247. Your donations really are changing lives, thank you.
I know times are tough at the moment, any donation is really appreciated.
Huge thanks to the incredibly talented lady - Liv who created the glorious costume :)
Thanks everyone - now let's go do this!!! 🧠🧠🧠
