We are a 24 hour search & rescue service to save lives at sea

Story

In 2024 it is 200 years of RNLI to support this I am swimming 200 km from October to April in a swimming costume open water - in all weathers - Nowhere in Shetland is more than 3 miles from the sea and along the 1,697 miles of coastline I'll be swimming somewhere ;) ...... I will have a Instagram page following my swims and charting my kilometers #shetlandseaswimmerselkie... .... hoping to swim all over Shetland and as many swimmers & folk in the community to support me - thank you for donating and supporting our RNLI .

2024 marks the RNLI’s 200th anniversary. With just a few months to go until our bicentenary begins, join us as we start counting down and looking forward to the exciting plans that will mark this historic milestone in our lifesaving story.

Too many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLI’s help. As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.

RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They’re the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators working tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.

Thank you.
