Story
We are fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.
In April this year, Marc Wilding, my wonderful, courageous, strong and incredible husband was diagnosed with terminal Glioblastoma Multiforme.
This took our world and shook it to its core. Following his diagnosis he has undergone a craniotomy to get rid of one of the unwelcome bastards (one of the names we have given the tumours). This major brain surgery was a success, however he still has a battle on his hands and Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy start early June to fight off the other little shit in there!
Sadly I have seen first hand the affects of what this disease can do to a person and whilst Marc is in great shape, fighting fit and taking it all in his stride (well what else would he do!) we need to come together and do anything and everything we can do to help this charity continue its research to one day a cure for this indiscriminate, vicious and aggressive arsehole of a cancer which is currently chronically underfunded.
I will be running the London Marathon in 2025 for Brain Tumour Research and will be taking part in various events and activities throughout the year (including the Bath Half and London Landmarks Half) to ensure we can raise as much as possible.
It seems Marc is well known and loved by many so there will be multiple people taking part in multiple events across the next year to raise as much as we possibly can and we appreciate each and every one of you who support us along the way.
HUGE thanks to Nikki for setting up the team and for all your help over the last few months, we wouldn’t have gotten through without you xxx
