Story
We have joined Barts Hike for Health in memory of our beloved Mum and Nana, Sandra Porter.
By taking on Barts Hike for Health we are supporting life-changing healthcare. This hospital helped Sandra have an extra five years of life past her prognosis period and they are are helping develop new lines of treatment all the time.
This hike helps the Barts Charity raise money for two important health projects.
One is a new breast cancer centre at St. Bartholomew's Hospital that will not only improve breast cancer outcomes, but will also help make a significant contribution to global research, saving lives for generations.
The second is the creation of a new Clinical Research Facility at the Royal London Hospital that will allow more clinical trials to take place in East London. That could mean earlier access to life-changing treatments for local people and the diverse community being better represented in this vital research.
We were so proud of our Mum and Nana as she fought breast cancer so hard and took so much treatment for such a long period of time. She wished for this disease to be eradicated and her bravery on the trials was an inspiration to lots of people!
We want to say thank you to this wonderful hospital and know that our Mum and Nana would want us to keep fighting in her name and help other ladies have a brighter future.
Thank you for supporting us in this very important cause in the memory of Sandra.
Love to you all
Emma, Steve, Lewis and Henry
