Channel relay swim 2024 · 29 July 2024

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

This year I have been inspired by my wonderful year 5's to take on a new challenge and conquer my fear of open sea swimming.

I will joining a team of 5 other amazing swimmers to cross the English Channel from Dover to France in support of Aspire, a charity that helps and provides practical support to people (like the inspirational Paula Craig MBE) after a life changing spinal cord injury.

This will involve swimming in cold water without a wetsuit, potentially in the dark and with jellyfish for company.

If you are able to give any donation Aspire and I would be hugely grateful.

Many thanks, Emma
