Story
As a charity, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution depends on our donations so it can continue saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe at sea.
Living by the sea for 16 years as a family we often visit our local RNLI station in Littlehampton and every time we go I'm inspired by the kindness, commitment and dedication they provide and feel great admiration for the volunteers. As a keen runner I've been setting myself crazy running goals, and have decided to set myself a RNLI themed goal.
My Southeast coast running challenge will raise funds for RNLI lifesavers. I will be running between all of the Southeast Coast RNLI stations. Starting at Teddington and running along the Thames to Chiswick, Tower and then on to Gravesend. From Gravesend I will run to Sheerness and then follow the southeast coast all the way round to Poole stopping at each RNLI station and the I will complete the challenge by running the London Marathon for the RNLI .
As a mum and small business owner my challenge will be undertaken over weekends and on days off and my aim is to visit all 28 Southeast coast stations prior to the London Marathon weekend in April 2024.
During the challenge I will meet RNLI lifesavers from each station to gain knowledge and an understanding of the many different RNLI roles and the incredible part they play within our communities. Documenting my running progress and the life stories I hear along the way on my social media platforms.
I will be kicking off the challenge on the 18th August 2023, if you would like to follow my progress, please check out my Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/love2runfree/
Thank you for your donations.
