Story
I know you might be wondering why on earth I’m putting myself through another marathon. It does sound a bit bonkers, but I was fortunate enough to secure a ballot place in the London Marathon this year – something I entered with very little expectation, after being inspired by a friend who ran last year. My first London Marathon was all the way back in 2006, so I thought it would be rather special to take part again, twenty years later. At nearly 45, I want to give it my absolute best and show my kids and myself that if you put your mind to something, you really can achieve it (hopefully!).
I’m fully aware that many of you have generously supported me in the past, and I know times are incredibly tough for lots of people right now. However, since I’m lucky enough to have a ballot place, I felt compelled to try and raise what I can for a charity that means a lot to me. Every single donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will make a difference.
Thank you so much for reading and for any support you might be able to give. It means the world to me – and to the charity I’m running for.
About James’ Place
At James' Place, our mission is to stop men dying by suicide. In the UK, suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 35 and men consistently account for around three-quarters of suicides.
We believe that no man should face a suicidal crisis alone. James' Place provides free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle. Since opening in 2018, we have helped more than 4,300 men through their crisis.
Your donation could help save a man's life.
Thank you in advance from the bottom of my little running heart and hopefully see some of you on the day xxx
