Story
As many of you know I have had psoriasis since the age of 18. Alongside the discomfort, constant itching and pain from arthritis I also suffered severe hair loss last year. I would never wear a t shirt and I used to dread the summer coming. At one point I was on crutches as the pain was so bad. This year I have been given a new life changing medication which I take in the form of an injection in my leg once every few weeks, for those of you who know me well this is not a fun thing for me, however my skin is completely clear, no itch, I have all my hair and my joints are pain free! I can wear a tshirt without embarrassment and I have learnt to run and paddle board! I am running this race so that research can continue to fight this disease. My medication will work but no one knows how long for. I am running in the hope that new discoveries can be made to help people like me. Every time I get to a tough bit of the run I grit my teeth and think how lucky I am to be able to run when before walking was painful, and how grateful i am that I can wear a tshirt and shorts with out Embarrassment… my partner Darren (and PT and no 1 cheerleader) is running and training with me. He has supported me through some tough times In the past two years. Our target is £200 - please do sponsor us , and thank you!
