Story

Elliot's Endeavours to End Duchenne supports Duchenne UK a charity that has one clear aim to end Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).

DMD is a devastating muscle-wasting disease. It is the most common and severe form of muscular dystrophy. Diagnosed in childhood, it mainly affects boys. Started by families affected by the disease, Duchenne UK is the leading DMD charity in the UK: connecting the best researchers with industry, the NHS and families to advance and accelerate every stage of drug development.

When I met Elliot, as my little boys best friend, I was struck by his beautiful warm smile and gentle nature. When I learned that Elliot had Duchenne I felt so sad and powerless to help.

DMD is a relentless and cruel disease which has no mercy. Stealing young lives and leaving loved ones broken.

However, a surge of new therapeutics are giving hope. Raising money allows this research to advance, giving a better chance that a treatment might be found that would be suitable for Elliot.

On July 3rd 2023 I will fly to Tanzania to start a 7 day trek up Mt. Kilimanjaro - at 5895m it is a hard climb due to the altitude symptoms as you get above 3000m. I will be doing this climb to raise money for Elliot's endeavours and would really appreciate your support.

All monies raised will go directly to Elliot's endeavours.
