We raise funds for UK research into IBC to improve survival rates across the UK

Story

In February 2023 I was diagnosed with stage 3 Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I underwent chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and targeted therapy and have had a complete response to my treatment.

Throughout my treatment I continued running to try and keep as fit as possible. I had been planning to run the Conwy half marathon last year but I had to pull out, so have signed up again for this year and am training to get my fitness back up.

IBC is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. Many people diagnosed with IBC are not as fortunate as me - they may not have a complete response to treatment or many are already stage 4 by the time they are diagnosed.

I am fundraising to help pay for much needed research. So little money is donated for this rare and deadly form of cancer

About the charity

Inflammatory Breast Cancer is a rare and highly fatal type of breast cancer which can present as reddened skin and dimpling (the ‘orange peel’ appearance) rather than a lump. It cannot be detected until it is at a late stage and sadly has often spread by the time of diagnosis. The IBC Network UK provides vital information to the public and medical professionals, supports affected individuals and their families and funds research into the disease and its treatment. https://ibcnetworkuk.org/donate/
