Story
Motor Neurone Disease affects 5,000 people in the UK and my mum is one of them. It's a devastating and scary disease, and it's terminal. The MND Association provides amazing support to those with MND and their families, and is leading research into finding a cure.
Ex-Rugby League players Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield have raised the profile of MND enormously over recent years. Inspired by his friend and former team mate Rob, who lives with MND, Kevin has done one challenge after another to raise over £8 million so far. Kevin is about to do a new challenge: 7 ultra-marathons in 7 days in 7 cities. This time, each marathon will include an extra mile to signify the extra mile people go to to help their friends and loved ones in tough times:

I am incredibly lucky to have got a place on the extra mile in London on 7 December. A mile isn't much I know, but it's a long run for me - I don't run. But really this is for my mum, it's to show support to Kevin, and it's to provide as much money as possible for the MND Association to continue its important work. I would be incredibly grateful for your support - thank you so much.
