After being diagnosed with MND in July 2023 we lost my lovely dad last week on the 14th of September after a brief but courageous fight.

They say MND takes everything from you, the ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow and sleep and watching dad suffer has been distressing for us all as a family.

He fought this disease with such bravery and didn’t once moan about his illness. The resilience he showed throughout his diagnosis was nothing short of inspirational.

Despite receiving the utmost of care from the staff at the Heath and the MND team there is no cure and no preventative for this cruel disease.

We need to find a cure to help those who come after us.

I will be running (shuffling and possibly walking) this in memory of my amazing dad.
