In 2019, I received the life-altering diagnosis of a rare Colloid Cyst in my brain after enduring persistent head pain and pressure. A CT scan revealed the cyst nestled in the center of my brain, posing the risk of causing Hydrocephalus, a condition that can be fatal if left untreated. Regrettably, there is a lack of understanding about these tumors in the UK, compelling me to take action by fundraising to raise awareness. Each day is a battle against excruciating pain and relentless pressure, with some days proving to be more challenging than others. While I rely on pain medication to cope, the imminent danger posed by the cyst's location prevents its removal until it grows larger. Despite these hardships, Brainstrust has been an invaluable source of support, alleviating my sense of isolation. Now, I am determined to reciprocate their kindness by giving back.
