Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I hated all sports at school, I even faked notes to get out of PE, yet here I am at 53 years old, paying to enter races! I never thought it would be possible to run a marathon, (I still don’t believe I’m a runner, even though I’ve been running for about 20 years, it never feels easy), yet each year I’d enter the ballot for the London Marathon and each year I breathe a sigh of relief when I received the declining email. So imagine my horror when last year I actually got a place! I ran the London Marathon (badly) in 2023 and as soon as I crossed the line my first thought was that I’m going to do it again, but this time I want to do it for others, not just for me.
Mental health has touched my life hugely over the years, not just with myself, but with those I love. Without charities such as Mind, the help and support wouldn’t have been possible, so it’s to give back and say thank you.
1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problems a year and here is still a lot of work to do around the stigma that surround mental health, especially in men.
All of your donations, big or small will make a huge difference to someone’s life, their families lives and go a long way to raising awareness around mental health.
