Story
In June of this year my good friend, my housemate and work buddy unexpectedly died.
Ru was the biggest of pests, with the funniest of humours and was the nerdiest of paramedics. He loved & played hard and will be remembered as the boy that packed far too much in to his far too shorter life.
He was so excited becoming a paramedic, working in London and squeezing every ounce of fun and adventure into his life. I so wish he got to live out that dream.
I have been so fortunate to gain a place to run the London Marathon in memory of Ru and for the charity that supports the place where Ru found his home. Ru loved to run, more often than not in tight lycra, obnoxiously bright colours & a beer in hand - a sight for sore eyes indeed. Whilst I can't promise the neon lycra and beer-en-route, I hope to do him some sort of justice!
We all so desperately miss you Ru.
On 27th April 2025 I will be joining #TeamLAS and flying the flag for Ru & London Ambulance Service at the iconic TCS London Marathon 2025.
I would be so grateful if you could spare any amount in memory of Ru and to support the London Ambulance Charity, which he was so passionate about.
#TeamLAS will be fundraising for our London Ambulance Charity which focuses on improving the wellbeing of staff and volunteers, supporting great patient care. Donations to the Charity pay for things like our Wellbeing Support Vehicles, ensuring our paramedics and frontline crews receive the mental health support they need during difficult shifts.
Your support makes a difference for our heroes in green. Thank you.
