Emma's fundraiser for CCLG

In 2014 my world as I knew it was about to change forever, my 5 year old son Jack was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. A soft tissue cancer. Once he was diagnosed it was already far too aggressive to be treated by any kind of treatment, he had a 10cm tumour in his pelvis, this had already spread to his bladder, bowel, lungs, spine and finally his bones, he died 4 weeks later.
I have every year tried to do my bit to help others raise money by doing events, cake sales, selling the gold ribbon badges, i mean lets face it we all know what the pink and red ribbons are for, but ask yourself do you know what the gold ribbons stand for??
For the last few years I have supported this charity, not only for the support they have given me but for families who have, are and will possibly go through in the future, because yes kids get cancer too, some survive but not all do. The treatment is so harsh for such young children that their little bodies have long lasting effects on them.
Here is some further information on this amazing charity so you can have a look and be more aware of childhood cancer.
Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group is a leading children's cancer charity and the UK and Ireland's professional association for those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer.
Each week in the UK and Ireland, more than 30 children are diagnosed with cancer. We bring together professionals to ensure all children receive the best possible treatment and care. We support young patients and their families with our award winning, expert information. We fund and support research into childhood cancers.
