Just when you thought January would be spent on the sofa, eating leftover chocolate coins, and counting down the days until the 6 Nations starts, it is back, Doddie Aid 2024!

Story

Doddie Aid is a virtual mass-participation exercise event founded by former Scotland rugby captain, Rob Wainwright, that lasts for 5 weeks from 1 January 2024. Any exercise counts, with the winning district being the one with the most miles at the end of the event.

The event raises funds for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation which invests in research to find meaningful treatments for motor neuron disease (MND).

Doddie Weir's story has transcended the rugby world. To fearlessly face down his diagnosis and improve the research landscape for people living with MND is mind-blowing. And to have done it with a smile never far from his lips, and humour punctuating every call to action, Doddie is an inspiration.

Doddie Aid is a way for us all to do our little bit to honour Doddie's memory and help the Foundation in the quest to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for MND.

Please consider donating as I attempt to log over 350 miles in 5 weeks wearing my Team Barbarians snood!
