Story

Hi everyone my names Emma.

My plan over the next year is to walk from my home in Emersons Green to Charlton Farm in Wraxall, which is the closest children's Hospice to me that care for children with life limiting illnesses. They cared for my close friend Jack Brookes for over 5 years before him passing away in 2014, and still continue to support his family to this day which i will be forever grateful for. I've chosen this year to complete the challenge as it marks 10 years that we've been without him.

The walk in total is just over 13 miles.

For some people 13 miles doesn't seem alot, but for me it's a massive challenge to take on, as i have a disability called Myalagic encephalomyelitis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This affects my walking hugely so for someone that struggles to walk even the smallest of distances taking on this challenge is massive but one I'm prepared to do.

At Children's Hospice South West they are committed to making the most of short and precious lives. The care that is offered at each of the three hospices is not just about the medical and nursing care for sick children but it is also about enriching the lives of children and their families

In 1995 Little Bridge House which is located in Devon was South West’s first children’s hospice to open its doors to families from across the South West. Charlton Farm located just outside Bristol was opened in 2007. Their third hospice Little Harbour which is based in Cornwall, opened their doors to children and their families is 2011.

Any Donation however much it may be will be gratefully received and shared over the three hospices, to help in making long lasting memories for all the families and make a massive difference to each one of there lives.
