My daughter has a rare genetic condition called PKU. To prevent brain damage treatment involves a restricted low protein diet from birth. PKU is diagnosed in newborns using the heelprick test. The NSPKU is a charity providing support and resources for people with PKU and families including campaigning for new treatments.
A few months ago my daughter drew a 'roarsome' picture which went viral on X. I've had some prints made. For those who donate £30 or more please share your details by ticking the box when you make a donation to arrange postage of a limited edition unframed print called 'Lessons in Symmetry' and to arrange additional postage payment. There are 50 prints, almost half have been sent out so far.
I am passionate about research in PKU. Women with PKU report when they start their periods this affects their 'PKU control' but research is needed to prove this. I'll be requesting that the money raised here will contribute towards this or similar research.
If you read to the end and still wish to donate to NSPKU a huge thank you!
The original target was £1500 but having reached that my 11yr old and I are aiming higher to ensure we can fund this important research that will benefit girls and women with PKU. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. We really appreciate it.
