Emily was my daughter and died of a brain tumour at the age of 3 in 1995. The children's cancer unit in Gloucestershire is called the Emily Kent Unit.
We are raising funds for a psychologist for children with cancer & their families on the Emily Kent Unit at Glos Royal Hospital

In 2005 the guidance was that all children having cancer treatment should have psychological support. we do not have this in Gloucestershire.
The other 6 children's cancer centres in the south west do have this support.
There are 37 children having cancer treatment on the Emily Kent Unit at the moment
The Pied Piper Appeal was founded in 1992 by local hairdresser Peter Hickman and £4 million was pledged to build a new Children's Centre at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The money was quickly raised with the centre opening in 2004.
Since then, The Pied Piper Appeal have continued to fund the Children's Centre along with supporting SEND Schools with equipment and resources, Sending children with life-limiting illnesses and their families on memory making Wish Holidays, and improving children's experience with Mental Health facilities.
