Story
I am not a runner — I have never been a runner. In fact, the furthest I’d ever managed before signing up for this challenge was about 4k (I didn’t even complete Couch to 5K!). But I’ve always wanted to run a marathon, and I couldn’t think of a greater cause or stronger motivation than doing it for the NSPCC.
Since recently retraining as a Speech and Language Therapist and now working closely with children and young people, I see every day just how vital the support of charities like the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) is.
I’m supporting the NSPCC because every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard. The NSPCC works tirelessly to protect children from abuse and neglect, providing vital services like Childline and offering guidance to families who need help. Their work changes lives every day, giving vulnerable children hope, protection, and a chance at a brighter future.
I’m fully realising and aware this won’t be easy — I’m training through ongoing hip and knee problems — but I Started training in the summer, regular physio and in December with my first 5K and I’m slowly, building up the miles.
Your support and donations would mean the world to me, will absolutely keep me going on those tough runs, and most importantly will help this incredible charity continue protecting and supporting children. Thank you so much to everyone who can support me and the NSPCC on this journey.
