Story

Quite frankly never thought I’d be writing this, but I am so excited to announce that I am going to be running the 2025 London Marathon for MindšŸ§ šŸ¤

This is something I am emotional to even say that I will be doing - and admittedly terrified now that it is reality - but I couldn’t have wished to support a charity more. For me, the point of this stretches to more than just fundraising for a great cause. This will not only be the greatest physical challenge I undertake, but one of the biggest mental battles.

To provide some background as to why this means so much to me, I have personally battled my own mind for as long as I can remember. Without going into the fine details, due to personal experiences I am not someone who is naturally wired to be a constantly happy person.

Unfortunately, still, a stigma remains surrounding opening up about how you feel, prevalent especially within men. It may be a clichƩ - but it is more than okay to not be okay. Battling your own mind is a silent illness; you versus your own thoughts is one of the toughest things a person can deal with, and to overcome these challenges is such an achievement in itself. Tough times are always a learning curve, and personally I pride myself on my own battles as there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

In a world where the support for mental health is not as accessible as it should be, I couldn’t be prouder to support a charity which fights this. Mind campaigns to support anyone dealing with mental health issues no matter how big or small. In this day and age especially, it is so important to highlight the need of looking after your mental health.

I have not only dealt with my own battles, but witnessed family, friends, strangers also fight their own mind. Regardless of how far this post reaches, I want to make it clear to anyone who reads this that you are never alone in how you feel, and there is always someone willing to help you through whatever battle you may face.

Running the 2025 London Marathon for Mind is something that will forever be something I pride myself by. In the lead up to the event, I will be fundraising to reach my goal of Ā£2,200 and any contribution is immensely appreciated. I am extremely grateful for any support I receive, and cannot wait to put myself to the test of running 26.2 miles! šŸ’ŖšŸ¼šŸƒšŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤
