Every year, we, at Wagada Digital fundraise for a charity that is close to the team’s hearts. This year our charity partner, Youth Talk.
As part of our fundraising efforts, I'm diving back into the pool as this cause is especially close to my heart..and head - supporting the mental health of young people in our community. I'll be swimming a total of 70 kilometres throughout May to raise funds for Youth Talk, an incredible organisation dedicated to providing essential mental health support to young individuals in St Albans and surrounding areas.
About Youth Talk:
Youth Talk is on a mission to create a safe and welcoming space where young people can freely express themselves and receive the support they need. From one-to-one counselling to a supportive environment, Youth Talk offers vital resources to navigate the challenges young people face in today's world.
Why I'm Swimming:
As someone who understands the importance of mental well-being firsthand, I'm all up for advocating for mental health awareness and support. When I was young, swimming was an outlet for me, both mentally and physically, and I want to share that by giving back to an organisation that does so much for our community's youth.
The Swim:
I'll be jumping back in the pool at my local gym, aiming to complete 70 kilometres. Thats roughly 93 lengths per day. It's certainly a challenge! It's been so long since I've been in the pool, I've had to get a new cozzy. Also why my cover photo is so old! To prep, I've been getting up earlier and getting some practice swims. Hoping to get my lengths in before work...eeek!
Fundraising Goal:
My goal is to raise £1000 to support our charity partner Youth Talk. Any donation will directly contribute to providing counselling support for young people during their times of need, ensuring they have a trusted outlet for their mental health concerns or worries.
