Story
On 1st September, I’ll be running 13.1 miles through London from Tower Bridge to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. While this is a huge personal challenge, it’s also an opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause. I’ve chosen to support The Felix Project, a London-based charity on a mission to ensure no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted. In 2020 I set up @peckishpeckham, an Instagram account focused on amplifying local restaurants and food businesses. Through meeting Peckham’s restaurant owners, I’ve witnessed their efforts to fight hunger and food waste in the community by donating surplus food and generating fundraising. Food insecurity in Peckham is on the rise, and The Felix Project supports community organisations such as Peckham Pantry and Peckham Food Bank to prevent local households from going hungry. My fundraising target is £500, which will provide meals to those who need it.
