Story
This is my second year fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support. The charity supported me and my family during my dads cancer diagnosis and treatment.
My father was told in February 2009 that he had terminal Bowel Cancer, he passed away the same year on the 26th December 2009.
Macmillan are a fantastic charity that support families and individuals throughout treatment and diagnosis. My mother, sister and I miss Dad every single day, and in what would have been his 61st Birthday year I will be running the Yorkshire Marathon in his name. As a writer at the Yorkshire Evening Post, my Dad loved telling stories about our lives in his column - "Life in the Middle Ages", and it seems somewhat befitting that the Yorkshire Marathon is the setting for my first marathon race. I am sure it would have made quite the column!
Thank you in advance for any donations you can give.
