Story
Welcome! My name is Em, I'm on the South Coast of NSW, Australia - and I am a huge fan of the brain.
I am a student of Neuroscience, an enormous advocate for the normalisation of prioritising your brain health, and much like so many of us have watched the lives of too many of my loved ones being affected by neurological conditions.
The need for further research into the brain is something that is incredibly close to my heart and conversations around brain health are ones I have every single day. It's my goal to be able to dive deeper into understanding the source of neurological conditions, but more importantly understanding what level of preventative measures we can take towards these conditions.
It is a huge goal of mine to be the one doing the research one day, but for now I am honoured to do everything that I can to help those who are already doing it, and that is why running in the London Marathon for Team Brain Reasearch UK is an absolute no brainer (pun intented).
I have spent the last 28 years of my life labelling myself as 'not a runner', so the lead up to the marathon is going to be one that will be the ultimate test of my discipline, my passion and more importantly, my ability to truly practice everything that I preach.
So I invite you to follow along on my journey to London, I ask that you share anything that resonates with you over the next 12 months, I welcome you to donate whatever you can to Brain Research, and most importantly I encourage you to implement anything that you learn from me along the way in terms of optimising your brain and nervous system - because every single one of you has one, and who knows, one day research might show that the things you chose to implement might have saved your life.
