Story
We're running the London Marathon 2024 in memory of our dad John Myers, who we lost in 2020 to complications arising from a brain injury. Brain Injury greatly affected the last few years of his life, and Headway were there, to offer support and guidance, not just to him, but to us, his family, guiding us through that difficult time. The highlight of his week was meeting other brain injury survivors through Headway; having that support and feeling less alone in a scary time brought him great comfort. We're so thankful to Headway for their support and for all the awareness they bring to brain injury. Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life, walking, talking, thinking and feeling and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing the life you once lived and the person you once were. We all think 'it will never happen to me', but every year around 350,000 people are admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury. That's one every 90 seconds.
Donate today to help us raise money for Headway in memory of our lovely dad John.
