Story
I'm taking part in 130K for the 130K to raise money for MS Together.
It’s estimated there are over 130,000 people living with MS in the UK. So, I'll be walking 130 kilometres throughout the month of May.
MS Together is a new UK-based charity that exists to support services of advice and support to people affected by MS, with a particular focus on those aged 18-35 living with MS.
MS Together has been a lifeline for me since being diagnosed with MS last year. Being diagnosed with MS in your twenties is so overwhelming and it can be incredibly lonely not knowing anyone else in your age group living with the condition. Finding MS Together helped me connect with other young people who have been diagnosed with MS (including some in my area) and their events have given me invaluable knowledge on how to live a healthy life with MS and cultivate a positive mindset! The charity has brought me so much comfort and I’ve made so many new friendships which I’m so grateful for 🧡
Any money raised will help them improve and expand their services so that they can support even more young adults living with MS. All donations, no matter how big or small will be hugely appreciated as this charity means so much to young people like myself!
MS Together are aiming to raise £20,000 to help improve and expand their services, including:
✅ Launching a counselling service which will provide group and 1-to-1 support to those who need additional support
✅Expanding in-person events to bring together more people and reduce social isolation in the MS community
✅Creating highly sought after information resources on topics requested by the community
