Story
I am running the London Marathon to fundraise in honour of my mum, who took her own life in October 2020. Understanding why this happened to my mum has been so difficult, and this is where charities like MQ Mental Health come in. As a science research charity, they aim to create a future where mental illnesses are understood, effectively treated and one day prevented. They bring together everything from cutting-edge neuroscience to social studies to find the answers we need to support people like my mum.
I am so excited to take on this marathon challenge, not only as my passion of running develops, but in order to raise money for such a worthy cause. MQ mental health feels like a perfect charity for me to represent. It allows me to raise funds for a charity that could help so many people like my mum, alongside being a charity all about science!
My mum was the best and is still someone I aspire to be like. For so much her life she was strong, resilient and worked hard for what she wanted, as well as being caring, supportive and loving, all things that I aim to be. Any donation, big or small, will be so gratefully received to support others like my mum.
Thank you!
