Story
In May 2025, I have challenged myself to take on the Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike to help raise money for people living with cancer.
I am taking this challenge with a group of my besties, one of those whose husband has spent the last 12 months fighting cancer himself. The Macmillan care he has received and relied on in the last year has been nothing short of amazing!
Below is a picture of a very good friend of mine a year ago just before his world came crashing down and he received a devastating diagnosis and has received and relied on MacMillan care ever since…

In October 2023, Brett and Danielle’s lives were turned upside down when Brett received the devastating news he had Oesophageal cancer.
Since then, Brett has been through chemotherapy, life changing surgery, more chemotherapy, scans, appointments and other various hurdles along the way.

As a family very close to ours, we have seen a snapshot of the difficulties they have all had to face and we are very proud of the resilience and strength Brett, Danielle and their three beautiful children have undertaken ❤️
Brett has took the challenge head on! While undergoing chemo, still managing to work, enjoy good times when we could, re start his fitness regime

and also be the most amazing dad! And also become an amazing husband when after his final chemotherapy he and Danielle got married in August this year ❤️

Now Brett has finished all of his treatment, the whole family are navigating their new normal as his treatment is over but life is very different for him due to the surgery and after effects of his treatment. Macmillan Nurses have been there through his journey so far and will continue to support him for the near future and they are always at the end of the phone for him should he need support.

I'd be so grateful if you could help me reach my £250 pledge, which can pay for Macmillan Nurse for one day. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
Thank you so much xxx
